Role
Designed and pair-programmed a self-diagnostic mental health web application portal using React.js
Mental illnesses affect 46% of teenagers and 13% of children yearly. People struggling with mental health may be in your family, live next door, teach your children, work in the next cubicle or sit on the same bench at school. However, only half of those affected receive treatment, often because of the stigma attached to mental health. Untreated mental illness can contribute to poorer performance at school and work and an increased risk of suicide.

Problem Scoping
Everyone feels anxious now and then. For example, you may worry when your deadlines are approaching, before taking a test or making an important decision. Occasional anxiety is OK. But anxiety disorders are different. They're a group of mental illnesses that cause constant and overwhelming anxiety and fear. Excessive stress can make you avoid work, school, family get-togethers, and other social situations that might trigger or worsen your symptoms.
Progress in mental health service delivery has been slow in most low- and middle-income countries. One study found adolescents' mental health literacy in South India to be very low. Depression was seen in 29.04% population, and schizophrenia was recognized only by 1.31%. Studies noted stigma to be present in help-seeking.
How do we differentiate between occasional anxiety and anxiety disorder? Is there a way to self-diagnose it? With this, my teammate and I created Sensa. We realized that the more you know, the better prepared you will be to manage symptoms and roadblocks along the way.
Solution Exploration
The web app is designed as a questionnaire with multiple choices. The questionnaire will help determine the user's mental health based on the pattern of their answering.
